Washington Crossing Condos
Built in 2002, Washington Crossing Condo community otherwise known as "Delaware Court", is located in Portland Maine's North Deering area, about 4 miles from downtown Portland. MAP VIEW Comprised of 62 units, it is a very popular community because of it's shingle style architecture, central location and overall appealing interiors with lots of glass and open flexible floor plans. Since many of the condos in Portland in this price point 220-275K are 30 plus years old, the newer designs of this condo community are a great value proposition.

Washington Crossing is within walking distance of "Northgate" a full service shopping center and a ten minute drive to Falmouth and downtown Portland. Bus service is available which is nice for retirees.
It is in a setting of 26 acres.
The entrance to the Washington Crossing community is rather cramped looking, sandwiched next to the Portland Arts and Technical High school. But do not eliminate it because of this. It "opens up" as you drive to the rear.
Many of the condos overlook pastoral views and green space. Almost all have a deck or some type of patio.
The floor plans vary, but most have a bedroom/den and bath on the first floor and 2 bedrooms and bath on the second floor. Most are a combination of hardwood and tile floors and stone surface counter tops, including granite.
Not all have basements with full headroom, but built in storage is excellent throughout most of the units.
Heating is predominantly by forced hot water baseboard. Many have "energy star" appliances.
Because the materials used in 2002 were newer than materials used in many of the older condo communities in Portland[built back in the late 80's] i.e.composite siding etc. and trim, the condo fees averaging only $200-250 or so, per month, will probably stay low.
Also there are no tennis courts or pool, which are nice amenities but add to the cost of the association upkeep. We've sold Washing Crossing Condos before and our buyer's and sellers have been happy.
